I watched this movie on Friday night after a long week of work. I needed something to take my mind off the week's work.
This movie certainly didn't help.

Now admittedly I hadn't seen anything about this movie when it came out, except maybe the movie poster. I didn't know it was based on a book. I hadn't even seen the trailer. I'd just heard that it was a remarkable film so I thought I'd give it a go.

I was wanting something a little more fun, I guess. This movie certainly isn't fun.

Here we have Viggo, who plays the Dad in the film.

I heard his wife call him John once, but for the most part he's just referred to as "Papa" by his son.

Here's his son, played by Kodi Smit-McPhee.

Much like the other characters in the film, he doesn't have a name. That's how bleak things are in this movie.

Thankfully the above image was from one scene I did like, where the father and son stumble on an underground bunker. At least that scene was somewhat optimistic.

The rest of the movie you watch them do this.

Walk.

They do a lot of walking, and not a lot of talking.

There's flashback scenes to before they hit the road, and as you can see the role of the mother is played by Charlize Theron.

As the movie progresses you find out what happens to her.

Urgh. No thank you.

Robert Duvall is in the movie for a few scenes, and he was interesting to watch. By this time though things were looking so bad for the central characters I was dreading what was coming next.

I'd heard Guy Pearce was in this movie and wondered when he'd turn up.

When he finally did though I was almost ready to pack it in. The movie was just too bleak and horrific for me.

As a family man it was almost unwatchable.

Then the end credits hit and I discovered the movie was directed by John Hillcoat, who also directed The Proposition.

That's when I realised why Guy Pearce was in this movie. Guy was the central character in The Proposition.

Again, another bleak movie. At least it wasn't too horrific.

Well, not as horrific as The Road.

I can understand why people wanted to see it. Viggo always gives 100% to the movies he appears in, so there's that.

Interview with... Sara Del Rey pics

I hope you enjoy my interview with professional wrestler, Sara Del Rey.

1. What does it take to be a professional wrestler?

Mostly it takes a tremendous amount of heart and dedication. I think as long as you are passionate about wrestling and never quit you can do well.

2. Was becoming a professional wrestler something you’ve always wanted?

No I never thought wrestlers were real people or that I could do what they did I just loved watching.

3. Since becoming professional, how has it altered your career as a wrestler?

It hasn't really I have always taken my training very serious and have always tried to present my self and act like a respectful person.

4. Have you done any convention work?

I occasionally do signings at conventions they are a lot of fun!

5. What would you like to do after wrestling?

I don't really know...there is so much to do in wrestling that I haven't thought about after.

6. What’s coming up next?

I want to be known as the best women's wrestler in the world so I'll be working on that.

7. Is there an event or charity you would like to bring to my reader’s attention?

Make a wish is a great organization.

Michelle Kwan was born in Torrance, California on July 7, 1980. She is the youngest of three children. Her parents are Danny and Estella, who moved to the U.S. from China in the 1970's. Her brother's name is Ron, and her sister's name is Karen. Michelle started skating when she was five after watching her brother play hockey. She started competing at age seven. In 1991 at age eleven, Michelle and her sister moved to Lake Arrowhead, California to train more seriously. They shared a cabin there called the Debi Thomas Teepe. Michelle competed in her first nationals at age twelve. She won the silver at thirteen and fourteen. She won nationals at age 15 along with the worlds that year too. The next season she won the silver at nationals and worlds. The season after she won every competetion, except for the 1998 Olympics, she won the silver there. She has won Nationals every year since 1998, and has won the worlds in 1998, 2000, 2001. She attends UCLA.
